Personalize a Mailchimp campaign

- [Instructor] Personalizing your email campaigns does two things for you. The first is that it makes the content more personal for your reader and the second is it helps your email avoid spam filters. You can personalize your emails with any of the fields in your audience, which means you can go far beyond just first name if you like. Let's personalize this heading real quick. We're going to select the merge tags dropdown and choose first name. When your audience receives this message, their first name will appear in the copy and that's a great way to catch their attention. If you select the merge tags dropdown, you'll see the member enlist data that you can select. Mailchimp has even provided a cheat sheet to help you identify the tags that you might want to use and a brief explanation of their purpose. You'll see a bunch of tags are used in the footers. This is the unsubscribe, and this can insert your audience's permission reminder. And you can see how to add videos to your emails that are hosted on services like YouTube and Vimeo. In the case of two trees, for example, this would be a great way to share recipe videos. If you're sharing an email series click the automation to see the options that are here. You can show the total number of emails and identify the number within the series. This can be helpful for your audience to know where they are in a series, especially if it's a lot of educational content. I encourage you to take some time and look at all the options that you have for merge tags, it's quite robust. Once you have any idea about personalizing your emails, you can return to the campaign builder and insert the tag where needed.
