- [Instructor] Transactional emails are automated messages related to account activity or transactions. They are very different from marketing emails. Transactional emails contain information that is uniquely relevant to an individual. And they're often actively requested by the recipient. This is one way that they are set apart from marketing emails. Think about when you've made an online order. You may have selected to receive a confirmation message, and you're pleased to see that it's delivered because it means that your order has been received. This is an example of a transactional email. Just because the email is transactional doesn't mean that you can't make them interesting. Sure a transactional email's first purpose is quick and useful communication.
