Loading data using Maestro

- [Instructor] Moving data from your desktop to MapGuide server is easily done with MapGuide Maestro. Using a load procedure, you can upload shape files or STF files to where ever MapGuide server is located. Otherwise, you'll have to manually FTP or copy the files up to the server. So on our desktop right now, we have a folder called Exercise Files, and there's a sub-folder called Shape Files. If we go in there, there's all the shape files. You'll notice all these shape files are actually a mix of files. They're not just shapes. So normally when someone talks about a shape file, like for example here's a road_centerlines.shp, there's associated files. There's a PRJ file which is a projection definition, or the DBF with all the attributes data, and SHX, that's an index. So most shape files have these sorts of helpers, but when we talk about shape files, most people think you're just talking about the .SHP extension here,…
