Skill Level Beginner
- [Instructor] I don't know about you, but you know, sometimes, I find it really hard to find an idea or the hook I need to begin a piece of content. Kind of like now. So, for this video, what I did is I turned to Copysmith, a natural language generation AI that's built for marketers to see if it might be able to help. And when I added in a prompt, in this case a headline, and it gave me a bunch of options that I could consider to start this video. So, let me show you what I got. Okay, so here's the headline I put in using natural language generation as your creative marketing copywriter. And you can see I've got a fair number of options to consider. Some good, some, you know, better than the others. Here's one that I kind of like, right here. "In the future, customers won't be reading your marketing copy because it will be generated from natural language generation." A little repetitive, but not bad. "This is a relatively new technology that is making headlines across the marketing and advertising industry." So, that's good. But what I'd probably do is just make a few changes. So it would read, "In the not so distant future, customers won't be reading the marketing copy you write because it will be created from natural language generation." But really, what I got here is not bad for a first try. Lots of ideas. And I thought I'd take you inside Copysmith to show you how the app works. Once you set up your account, you're taken to the homepage and this is what the homepage looks like. On the left side, you can see you have your profile. Click on that. You can fill in your name, your company name. You can see examples of the types of plans you could get. So, Starter, Early Adopter Plan. Right now I'm using the free version. And if you're interested in trying it, that's something that you can do too. If you go to the tutorials button, what you'll find are a series of blog posts that take you through how to optimize what you need to do on Copysmith. So, really good and easy to follow instructions. Back to the dashboard. There's also a community, which is a Facebook group you can join. If you have any comments or you want to ask questions, or maybe request a new product. So, that's the dashboard right there. Let's go back to the homepage. So, on the homepage, what you can see is you can organize your content by folders. And I like doing that. To create a new folder, there's a button here on the left. Pretty easy to find. Just click on that. Give it a title. If you want to add in a URL to pull up data that might help Copysmith do a better job of creating the synthetic media that it will be creating, you can add it in there. Company name, maybe a little description. Audiences, your website. And you can choose what you want to enter. I'm going to go to a folder I already created: the Digital Marketing Trends folder. That's where we have that Copysmith video intro. And we're going to start a new project or a new file. And the way you do that is you go to the right of the screen, click on the new file button, and then it gives you a whole bunch of options that you can choose from. There's some popular ones, blog ideas, blog intro. You can choose from the variety of ads. Social ads, for example. If you need to brainstorm ad headlines or ideas or a blog outline, you can choose those. Branding taglines, you can get help developing taglines for your brand. And then a whole bunch of other products. And what Copysmith does is they add in new templates every couple of weeks based on customer feedback. So what I thought we could try are some ad headlines. I'm just going to click on that, go to the bottom right. Click create. And there you go. So, I already have the name of the course. What our audience for this, I'm going to put the audience in that as marketing professionals. There we go. Company description: I'm going to put a description of what I want to do. There it is. Training and workshops to teach marketers the latest digital and social media trends. Keywords. We have some keywords here. And now, just click on the generate button and see what you'll get. Here we go. Here's some examples. "What you need to know about digital marketing." Not bad. "Do you know where to find the marketing trends?" Not bad. "What will your career look like in 2025?" Now, that's something that I think, okay, I can work with that. "We have the course to upskill marketers in digital trends." Also not bad. Here's one I really like. "What your parents taught you about social media will not protect you." And then, "LinkedIn Learning is the fastest way to master digital marketing trends." It's fairly obvious, but you know, you can see the benefit of the keywords there, and you can see it goes on. And if you want, you can generate more options just by clicking the generate more button. So you can see how easy it is to create projects and get the AI to help you brainstorm more ideas. But, hold on. You're not done yet. Because there's one thing you need to remember, and that is you cannot expect the AI to do all your work for you. So, a good way to look at this is to consider it your first draft. Now, it's up to you and your team to review the ideas, pick the best ones, and then edit and make the changes you need to add in the human touch. Copysmith may fix the problem of a blank screen, but it's up to you to polish it and add personality and style, so your content works well and engages your customers.
