- [Instructor] Let's start with a case study of how research can uncover insights which lead to your best test ideas. Real Simple Targeting is an eCommerce app for Shopify stores. The CRO team was tasked with running on-site experiments to increase on-site conversions. The company understood the value of CRO and wanted to point our team in the direction of the most important business problem, and for them, it was free trial activation. The first few weeks were dedicated to exploring quantitative and qualitative analysis. The main goals were to gain a better understanding of site visitors, learn how the company's product was positioned, and why visitors were abandoning the product. All of these insights would drive the hypotheses for experimentation.
