Essentially, leadership wants to know if we spend X dollars, what will our return be in sales? To give them an answer, you need to estimate ROI. In order to estimate ROI, you need to know the following. One is the estimated cost to invest in the campaign, two, the estimated conversion rates, and three, the estimated revenue. Let's walk through an example. The marketing team at Red30 Tech needs to show leadership an estimated ROI for the $20,000 in marketing funds they're requesting to promote the company's video software. $10,000 will be spent on ads, $5,000 on a microsite, and $5,000 on paid search.
