Create a long-term plan for progress
- Along with making short-term progress, you'll want to have a long-term plan for review and adjustments. I recommend creating a quarterly schedule for review. Ideally, this is a meeting with your accountability partner for the purpose of candidly discussing your progress in this area of change. At the very least, hold this meeting with yourself. The review doesn't have to take long. 10 minutes may be all that's necessary. Focus on just one area of change. Ideally, your partner will ask you how you're progressing and you'll report back. Discuss the actions you're taking and the results you're getting from those actions. At this time your partner can give encouragement and additional training. In addition to the quarterly followup, you can also hold quick monthly followups that last a few minutes. I also recommend briefly reporting numbers via email.
