This path is what happens in the steps between receiving the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and rendering the page in your browser. When we optimized the critical rendering path and allow our content to load progressively we can significantly improve the time to get our above the fold content loaded. Optimizing the critical path makes the site load faster but it also tricks the user into thinking the site is loading faster than it is.
