Defining your target audience

- We'd all like it if everyone became our customer, but that's not realistic. After all, it's hard to believe that everyone would need or want your product. Marketing is all about getting the right message in front of the right people. Your target audience is the group of people, a group with similar characteristics that you'd like to get your message to. Defining your target audience at the start of your marketing efforts is essential, and here's how you do it. You start with these four questions about your ideal customers. First, what do they look like, or what are their demographics and their interests? Second, what goals do they have? Third, what barriers do they need to overcome? And fourth, what motivates them?
