- In PR, why do we work so hard to build great relationships? You could say strong bonds with stakeholders is the key to keeping people happy, loyal, and advocating for your brand. But it's not just about relationships during the good times. You have to plan for how you'll maintain relationships during negative times, and crisis too. When negative issues arise unexpectedly, or even crisis strikes, you have to rely on your community to stand up for you and to support you. Great relationships with the media, bloggers, partners, employees, customers, and your community can help you move from a situation that's potentially damaging to a more positive outcome. When I work with clients and an issue arises, having solid relationships makes all the difference. Look at the media and what happens if they get wind of a negative story.
