- [Instructor] Many jobs worth applying for are never shared publicly, which is an opportunity for you to be considered for one of these roles with a much smaller pool of applicants. To discover these roles, it is important to find companies you'd like to work at and reach out to them by pitching yourself as a candidate, whether there's an open position listed or not. Taking the initiative like this shows that you're ambitious and generally interested in working there beyond simply needing a job. You won't be doing this numerous times, as there's likely only a few companies that you'd be this excited about and interested in working at. Even if there aren't any marketing opportunities open, and you're not a fit after pitching a company, you're on the radar of their hiring team for all the right reasons.
