- The customer decision journey has evolved a lot over the past few years. You're a customer for lots of brands. Just think about how your own decision-making behavior has changed. We've all bought laundry detergent, right? Well, in the past, you'd probably just go to the store and pick a brand off the shelf. Now you can research which company makes that brand of laundry detergent and read about their corporate practices, such as sustainability or diversity. You can research and compare specific product ingredients easily online. That kind of information didn't factor into our decision-making as much in the past, not because we didn't care, but mostly because the information wasn't easily available like it is today.
