- Did you know the number four is considered unlucky in Japan? It's not uncommon for buildings to skip the fourth floor in their numbering scheme. If you're thinking of entering Japan with a new product, it isn't advisable to put them into the consumer market in a package of four. Where do you find people who know a market that is completely, in every sense of the word, foreign to you? One way is to look for an expatriate of the country or countries you're considering. With today's global economy, there are likely many people living in your city who were born and raised in the country of interest. Often, there are organizations in larger cities that exist to help expatriates stay in touch with their homeland and culture. How do you find these organizations?
