- [Instructor] An often overlooked, but incredibly important part of search optimization is how you handle your images. And I'm not talking about compressing your images for speed, which we'll talk about later, but I'm talking about how you control your file names and your alt attributes. These are the two elements that give the search engines context for your images, and they're incredibly helpful as you work to rank for particular search terms. Now I'm here on a sample website explorecalifornia.org and I've gone into this Backpack California page which is a tour package. So let's say that we're working to get this page to rank, and we'll ignore all of the obvious errors that are happening in SEO right here, and instead focus in on the image. Going to right click and choose Inspect in Chrome and I'll open up this inspection panel so that we can take a closer look at what's going on. And it's here that you can see the image was named backpack_main.jpg and the alt attribute is Backpack…
