Intent-based keyword research

- [Instructor] As you build your keyword research charts or tables, I recommend adding labels to identify the intent of a user who uses specific keywords. This level of detail in your planning will greatly improve your understanding of what content to focus on, what improvements are necessary to that content and its associated landing page, and what areas present a realistic opportunity for success. I approach this by labeling the categories and characteristics by their first letter. So, for a directed informational query, I'd mark an I for information query, comma d, for the directed characteristic. For a navigational transaction query, I would label N for navigational, comma t, for transactional. I think you get the idea. You can then build a simple spreadsheet that looks something like this.
