- [Narrator] The most basic part of any website is the domain name. And for many of us, the domain that we're working with isn't changeable. It's a brand and that's fine. Now, today's ranking algorithms don't give much weight to having keywords in the domain name. It's more important that your domain name works for your brand and your user than being keyword rich. In fact, most searchers are immediately suspicious of domain names that are far too keyword rich. It looks spammy. And if people aren't clicking on the listing, its rank is going to slip. Okay, so if you don't already have an established domain, let's review how to choose a domain name. Rand Fishkin over at Moz.com has put together a fantastic presentation on this exact topic.
