- [Instructor] It is important that the right people in your database receive the correct information. This is where segmentation comes into play. Segmentation allows you to separate your list of subscribers to help send more targeted messages. Here are some of the different types of segments. You can segment people based on the email list that they're on. So, depending on what someone signs up for or what someone purchases, they will be on a separate email list. You can also segment based on clicks and opens. So, if a particular amount of people have clicked a certain link, then you can send them a specific message. Similarly, if a particular amount of people have opened a certain email, then you can segment those people and send a direct message. You can also segment based on IP addresses and tags. For example, if you had a webinar and you wanted to tag people who registered for that webinar, then you can do that…
