- [Instructor] A well-optimized site will have a thoughtful approach to information architecture. Google needs to understand what content is most important to your visitors, and the way that you decide to organize your site sends a signal to Google on what is and what isn't important. A logical and properly constructed site architecture makes your goals very clear to Google, but also very helpful to your visitors. Let's visualize this. Think about how we might organize our own files. Let's say you're asked to pull a client's invoice off Google Drive but you aren't able to search for it. Instead, you have to navigate through the folders to locate the document. If your office was well organized, you might have a file tree that goes Clients, Example Company, Invoices, 2017. And in the 2017 Invoices folder, you'll probably see January, February, March, and so on. It's incredibly logical, and the context is clear whether you navigate down the tree or up the tree.
