- You may be wondering, "Can I use an existing decision journey framework, or should I develop a customized framework?" The answer is review your buyer personas and think from the customer's perspective to understand their decision journey stages. Think through your customer's pain points. What questions do you need to answer? Or what types of problems do you need to solve for them? It's probably best to limit to seven or eight stages max. This is an example of a hotel brand for a customer interested in a vacation. The first stage is to evaluate options. The customer is looking to understand all the choices available. The second stage is to research preferences. Now the customer has narrowed down to a few hotel brand options and seeks additional information about those potential options.
