Vanity metrics
- So many entrepreneurs and business owners focus on aspects of their social media marketing that simply do not move the needle for their business. We call this, in marketing, vanity metrics, things such as the amount of followers you have, the amount of likes or shares that post gets. They do not necessarily always link to sales back to your business. Essentially, we're on social media to find new customers. So you always need to keep that in mind when creating your social media marketing strategy. A post that gets the most likes and shares might not necessarily get the most sales back to your website. You want to think about this when creating your content. Keep in mind your analytics. What posts are actually driving traffic back to your website and generate in sales?
