What are Google featured snippets?

- [Instructor] It's likely you've encountered plenty of featured snippets while using Google. They're showing up on more and more searches and there's no indication that Google has any plan to do away with them. Most often they appear at the top of the organic search results in what we refer to as position zero. The snippet aims to answer a particular question from within the search results page. You can see an example here on my screen. The block includes a summary of the answer which is extracted from a webpage and we see the link to the page along with the title of that page. Currently, it looks like Google will pull answers from any results on the first page or within the top 10. You don't have to be in position number one to receive a featured snippet. In this example, the snippet comes from searchenginewatch.com. And if we scroll down, we can see that this content is actually in the fifth organic position, but…
