- [Instructor] Before you get into the course material, I want to take a minute and make sure I'm setting the right expectations. I want this to be an incredibly rich learning experience for you, but to make efficient use of our time together, I'm going to expect that you have several prerequisites already out of the way. First, I'm going to assume that you're comfortable with the fundamentals of SEO. That's to say, you should have a rough idea as to how crawling, indexing and ranking work. Second, I'm going to assume that you've already established your SEO tools, so I'm expecting that you've got Google Analytics and Google Search Console set up at the very minimum. Third, I'll expect you've conducted keyword research and have interacted with tools such as Moz, SEMrush or Google Trends. Fourth, I'm trusting you're familiar with common SEO and marketing terminology. If the terms backlinks, alt tags, bounce rate, click-through rate and redirect sound a little foreign to you, it might be worth brushing up on the basics before continuing. And finally, I hope we're on the same page of the importance of being mobile friendly, and just how important that mobile experience is both for search and your users. I won't be reinforcing just how important mobile is as we go through this course, I'm just going to assume you're already aware. If you do need to brush up on your skills, there's a lot of great courses here that you can watch to get up to speed. And whether you're looking to manage SEO for your own business, on a team, or as a consultant, this course will be valuable for you. Now when it comes to this course content, I'm focusing on one narrow slice of the SEO pie. We won't be covering every aspect necessary to achieve SEO success. Instead, I hope to help you get a deep insight into how SEO-friendly websites are structured. You can't know your exact SEO situation, but I'm going to show you the building blocks and once you know how to use them, and where to put them, you'll be better prepared to evaluate what needs to happen in your own project. Alright, now that we're on the same page, let's dive in.
