When website log files can be useful

- [Instructor] Back in ye olden days of the internet, before Google Analytics existed, the only way to determine how many people were coming to your website and what they were doing when they were there was through a process called log file analysis. Then we got great tools like Google Analytics and other analytics programs, and log file analysis was less used. But, what log file analysis is still really great for is figuring out what search engine bots have been to your site, and what they did while they were there. For example, you can see the last time they checked out key pages, or if they're getting stuck somewhere, or if they're just flat out ignoring your great content.
