The power of visual biasing and understanding attention control

- Let's do a review of our visual system by doing a couple of quick experiments. First, hold your thumb out at arms length in front of you and focus on your thumbnail. The rest of the room around you should be out of focus. You only have two degrees of visual art for identifying color and seeing fine detail. Next, hold your hands out from your sides. Look straight ahead and wiggle your fingertips forward. Can you see them? You should be able to, since we have 220 degrees of peripheral vision for motion detection. Most of our brain is involved in processing visual information. And it's our dominant sense. We operate in a gray world of fast moving objects which are critical for our survival. And we move the center of our eyes around and try to look for interesting objects in color and detail.
