Using sub-bass to reinforce the lows

Sometimes your bass sounds just don't have enough thump down low. So here's a trick I use to get them to go a little deeper. Also, I've taken some of the techniques I showed you previously and made a few additions to the automation of my filter cutoff, oscillator three, and so on. As you can see here in the automation lanes. I don't want to have to redo this baseline, so what I'm going to do is borrow these midi notes and I'm going to create a brand new track and copy the notes to a new track. So, let's go to Insert New Track, let's bring up a instance of Massive, I'm going to load a preset that I created earlier. So shut down that window. I'm going to drag this over by holding Option down, which will copy. Let's sole this in here by itself. Great. So, let's play these two together so you can here what they sound like. All right, also what I'm going to do is I'm going to route this to my bass bus, which is on B. All right, so let's hear what that sounds like in context with everything else. And that's it. It's simple. If you're using speakers without good bass response, then you may not hear the difference here, but I assure you this makes a huge difference when you have a sub woofer or if you're in a club.
