Creating custom tools
- [Instructor] If you want to create a custom tool in Mastercam, we have a couple different options. Let me show you how to do it. We want to jump in to the tool library, so let's go up here to the tool manager, and take a look at the tools we have. We've got the same tool that we loaded in the last video here. We want to create a new tool. So, instead of choosing from a library down here, I just want to right-click anywhere in the white area here, and say create tool. Now, it's going to ask me what style of tool I'd like to create and based upon which one of these options I choose, it's going to ask me different questions. So, if I just choose something like a flat endmill, it's going to be pretty straightforward, or if I choose a face mill, it's going to be a wildly different question because there's a lot more questions as far as angles and diameters and things like that that you might have to answer for a face mill.
