- [Instructor] Hey guys I'm Gabriel Corbet and right now I'm going to be showing you how to do a facing operation in Mastercam for Solidworks. So right up here on the screen we've got a block and it's the same block that we've been using throughout the course, or at least a very similar block and you can see we've already got some operations done on this block and we're going to just continue on adding operations to that same block. So you can see all the operations we've already done and this one is going to be a facing operation. Now generally a facing operation is what you're going to do from the beginning of the part. When you first start machining things you're going to face off the top of the part and then you'll do the pockets and the drill holes and everything else you're going to do to it, so we've done it a little bit backwards here but that's okay we can at least rearrange our operations later on.
