Tapping

- [Instructor] To tap a hole is very similar to drilling a hole with one major exception. It's always a good idea to drill the hole, prior to actually tapping it. Makes things go much, much smoother as you get into machining the part. But, assuming that we have spot drilled and drilled a hole already that's the correct size for our tap, another very important thing to do, Now we're ready to start tapping the hole. So to do that operation it's pretty much exactly the same as a drilling operation so I'm going to come up here to point, circle, tool paths. Under drill I'm going to choose the individual surfaces I'd like. Now, notice over here I do have this stock shown, I want to actually hide that, so let's go ahead and cancel out of that. Click on OK. Come over here to the part itself and we have two solid bodies there, I want to go ahead and just hide that, it's going to make our life a little bit easier.
