Add color in Maya
- [Instructor] Now lets add some color to our scene. Color in Maya is added using what are called materials. Now materials can be found under the rendering menu. So I'm going to use this pull down menu here to go to rendering and then under lighting/shading, you'll see we have a materials tab here. Now under this we can assign a new material, assign a favorite material, as well as an existing material. Now notice we have a couple here called business, crusader, and racer, which we'll use in a little bit. Now we can also apply materials through the rendering shelf. If I click here you'll see we have all of these little spheres here, these are called shader balls and they're different types of shading algorithms called shaders. So for example this one here with the long highlight is called Anisotropic, Blinn has a normal highlight, Lambert has no highlight it's kind of a matte surface, Phong is a little bit shinier and Phong E…
