Add texture in Maya
- [Narrator] In addition to adding color to your objects we can also add textures, which will give them a lot more life. Now adding textures is very similar to adding color, so let's go ahead and select the helmet of this character. If I go into the attribute editor, you'll see we have a helmet material. Now that material has this color on it, and we can obviously change that color if we want. But let's say we want a pattern or a texture instead of a color. We can change this by clicking on this little checkered box to the right to the color attribute. When I do, it brings up this menu that says create render note. Now this gives me all sorts of options here, everything from granite, leather, all sorts of stuff. But what we're looking for here, is file. This allows me to add a file. So when I do that, notice now the texture changes and it changes my menu in the attribute editor to a file browser. So I'm going to hit my…
