Advanced caching with cache control
- [Instructor] Cache Control gives advanced functionality compared to the Compute and Cache to Disk command that we saw previously in the course. Cache Control is found in the attributes for certain Bifrost property container nodes such as LiquidProperties, FoamProperties and GuideProperties. In the outliner select BifrostLiquidProperties1 and in the Attribute Editor open up the Caching section and within that we see a bunch of subsections, Initial State Cache. It does not have any Cache Control parameters but Liquid Cache does as do Mesh Cache and Solid Cache. We can choose different read/write modes for the various different caches such as liquid and solid. This allows us to do cool things such as generate a new simulation that is dependent on an existing cache such as foam on a previously cached liquid. In this situation, I can choose to disable the solid cache to save disk space. The solid voxels and collisions are still calculated on every frame but that solid information isn't…
