- [Instructor] The rendering process usually starts with light. So we add lights to the scene, and then we add cameras and render. So let's take a look at some of the basic lights that you'll find in most 3D software. So the first I'm going to do is just turn off the lights in the room. Now most software will have default lighting and I've just turned that off. Now the first light we're going to look at is just the general lighting in the room and that's called ambient lighting. Now ambient lighting can be a physical light in the scene. It can also be a software-configured thing, and we can also get ambient lighting from the environment in the room, which it would be bounced lighting or secondary lighting, but let's just take a look at the basic concept of ambient lighting.
