Blocking out the body

- Now let's go ahead and start modeling the character. Now we're in Chapter Two so make sure you set your project to Chapter Two and we're going to block out the body first. I'm going to start with a simple polygonal cube and then we'll reshape that to create the body. I'm gonna actually go into a Quad view here and select Polygonal Cube. Then just sketch out a rough cube that matches the width and height of the body. Then, in my perspective, you go ahead and pull that out so that it's reasonably square as viewed from the top. Now I'm actually gonna go into my top view here and select my object and open up my input so I can see what my polycube is made of. Now the one thing is that I do want it square from the top so the easiest way to do that is just to type in some numbers for width and height and in this case I'm gonna type in 5.5, that makes it square. Then I'm gonna turn on X-ray so I can see what I'm doing here and just go ahead and position this right over the top. Now one of…
