- [Instructor] So with our brick at the correct scale we want to actually start creating one of our maps. Well the color on this brick is actually just a white painted brick and there's not a whole lot to that other than creating some grunge. So a more important piece of this particular texture is going to be the bump map. So what is a bump map? Well a bump map is a gray scale image with anything that is not 50% gray going towards black looking like it's being pushed into the surface and anything that's 50% gray or white will look like it's being pulled forward in that image in the render engine in Maya or the other 3D applications. So let's come in here and take a look. What color information at first is going to be problematic? We don't want to just throw a color map as a bump map and let's take a look why. I want to de-saturate this particular image, but don't want to do it destructively so I am gonna use an adjustment of a hue saturation and I'm going to just take all the…
