Building a hierarchy
- [Instructor] So that we can pose or even animate the robot arm. We can link all the parts together in a parent-child hierarchy and we can do that from the outliner or in the viewports. I'm going to opt to do it in the viewports because I think that's a little bit more intuitive in this case. The base object, of course, is going to be the root of the hierarchy and we want to start linking things to that root object. Specifically, this first axis one object is going to be a child. And what we'll do here is select axis one, hold down the shift key and select the base and then press the P key to parent the objects. So all of the selected objects will be parented to the last selected object and we can test that by selecting the base here and grabbing the rotate tool and seeing if a child rotates with it. And, indeed, it does. I'll undo that with the Z key. Now I want to link these motors here to axis one, so…
