Create a push rod
- We now have our pistons connected to our driveshaft and now we need to hook in the rest of the motor. And this is mostly the drives, the pushrods and the rocker arms. So, let's take a quick look at how this is all supposed to work. We've got this crankshaft and attached to it are two cams. Now, each one of these cams pushes up on this pushrod, which in turn, pushes up on this rocker arm which lifts a valve. And then we also have this spring here to keep everything together. So, let's focus on the cam and the pushrod. So, I want this cam to rotate in Z and then when it hits that pushrod, I want that to move up. And then when this is out of the way, the pushrod drops back down. So, the easiest way to do this is by using what's called a 'set-driven key'. Now, before I do that, I'm actually going to go ahead and animate the cam so that we can set up the set-driven key. So, I'm going to go ahead and select it.
