Creating AOVs for render component passes
- [Narrator] We've defined our file help put parameters in the render settings dialog and now we're ready to set up the AOVs themselves. Let's go over to the AOVs tab and in the AOV browser section, we see two lists. On the left is the available AOVs and these are all of the factory default AOVs that are shipping with Arnold. And then on the right we have the active AOVs, which is currently blank because we haven't made any AOVs active yet. We've got three components to our material shaders the diffuse component, a specular component, and also the coat or clear coat component. And we want to separate those out into their own AOVs or render passes. And additionally, we also want to separate each one of those individual components out to their direct and indirect illumination. And this will give us a great deal of control in post production.
