Creating hierarchies in Blender
- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at how to connect objects together in Blender. We're going to use a technique called hierarchies, or parenting, and that allows you to connect objects so that they move together. Now, here we have a basic character, and if select the bottom of this character and want to move him around, well, only that lower part is moving, we want to connect all these other parts together so that they move as one. We can do this in Blender by parenting. So what I need to do is select the child object, or the object that's controlled, and then select the parent object last, so in this case, let's say I want to connect the Torso to the Pants, so I'm going to select Torso first, and then Shift + select Pants. Now, notice how the Pants selection is a little bit lighter, it's a different color, and like I said, that can be important in Blender, and in this case, the last object selected will become…
