(upbeat music) - [Instructor] The old Maya software renderer, is pretty much obsolete. It's a legacy feature at this point. And its usefulness is quite limited except in certain situations related to compatibility and interoperability. For example, if you have a procedural noise texture that you've created using Maya nodes, then you will find much to your surprise that those are not fully supported by Arnold at least at the current time. Let me show you. We've got a procedural landscape here generated by a Maya Noise Node and it looks pretty good here in viewport 2.0. I'm using the same texture to generate the displacement, using a texture deformer and also for the diffuser base color. If I render this in Arnold, Arnold render, I expect to see the same thing that I have in viewport 2.0. But unfortunately I do not see the same thing.
