Installing a new compound in the user home directory
- [Instructor] Because Bifrost is separate from Maya we can treat Bifrost compounds as assets within Maya and we can install those compounds to a special directory to make them show up within the Bifrost graph, allowing us to easily share compounds that were created by other users or even downloaded from the internet. So let's talk about where to install these compounds. I've created a compound for this course, which is a simplex noise deformer and to use it in the Bifrost graph we'll need to install it to the appropriate directory. Let's investigate where that is. We can find that information in the help documentation. Within the Bifrost graph editor we can go to Help, Bifrost Help, and it launches the web browser, takes us to help.autodesk.com. Over on the left is the navigation pane. Open up "Working in Bifrost Extension" and click on "Install compounds and graphs". And this tells us where we need to install our…
