- [Aaron] Autodesk Maya has long been regarded as a leader among 3D graphics packages. Maya's nearly limitless tools, enable artists and designers to visualize almost anything we can imagine. In particular, Maya really shines in the area of materials and shaders. My name is Aaron F. Ross, and I'd like to welcome you to this course on Maya: Advanced Materials. I'll start the course by sharing some essential tips and tricks for the Hypershade to accelerate your workflow. Then you'll learn about designing physically-based materials in Maya using the new Standard Surface. We'll take a look at Raytracing techniques for translucent and transparent materials, and also how to apply surface relief using bump, normal, and displacement mapping. Maya is the gold standard for power and flexibility in material look development, so let's apply that creative power in this course on Maya: Advanced Materials.
