Shader networks in Maya
- [Aaron F. Ross] Autodesk Maya is one of the most popular 3D packages available, and it particularly excels in the area of complex materials. My name is Aaron F. Ross, and I'm happy to share my knowledge and experience in this video training course, Maya: Shader Networks. We'll begin with essential tools and techniques in the Hypershade material editor, including shading elements of the Arnold renderer and the Adobe Substance plugin for Maya. From there, we'll explore many options for layering and color correction. You'll also learn how to incorporate 3D scene data, paint directly on surfaces, and manipulate UV coordinates in interesting ways. I've devoted a chapter to building a shader tree for a non-photo real material, a procedural woodcut effect. Finally, we'll see how to make Maya and Arnold play well with others by baking shader elements to bitmap files for compatibility with other software. The sky's the limit with Maya. So let's launch into Maya: Shader Networks.
