Simulating detail with Transfer Maps

- In the last movie, we created a low level of detail object to receive the projected normals of a high LOD object. Now we're ready to transfer those maps. Select rock low LOD in the outliner. Go into the rendering menu set. And from the lighting shading menu, choose transfer maps. Now because we selected the low LOD object first, its shape note has been plugged into the target meshes section automatically. Open up the source meshes section. And here will be listed all of the objects which are going to project onto the target meshes. By default it says all other meshes. And that would actually work in this case because the only other mesh in the scene is rock high LOD. But we can also explicitly choose that. In the outliner, select rock high LOD and in the transfer maps dialogue, click add selected. And now it's listed here. Scrolling down, in the output maps section we can choose which attributes we want to project.…
