Simulating springs

- We now have our rocker arms and our push rods working. So you can see that we've got this pretty close to done. All we need to do is hook up the springs. All we need to do is hook up the springs. So we can do this using a couple of different ways. One way is to use blend shapes and so you model two shapes for the spring and you blend between them. But these are pretty straightforward so all we have to do is just use scales. So if we make sure that our pivot point is at the bottom of the spring, we can scale it up and it will look like it's stretching. So let's go ahead and tie this to the motion of the push rod using a set driven key. So I'm going to go ahead and select my first spring, go into Key, Set Driven Key, Set. So this loads as the driven so we're going to go ahead and select the push rod and load that as the driver. So the push rod moves in Y and that in turn will scale the spring in Y.
