With my texture sheet at least preliminary laid out, I am ready to model some modules here in Maya, to best utilize the texture sheet, and solve the issues of tiling through better design, versus a brute force application of simply more texture resolution. I've got my door mapped on, and I am ready to look at the wall. Right now it's a straight run of wall and I'm going to use the techniques I looked at in the reference imagery to break the run of brick here. I have sized out my brick and made it 144 inches square pilable, meaning that I can have a 12 foot run of break before I either need to do something else or think about that repeating. What I am going to do is make a module of a wall with a door in it and a module of a straight wall, and then a pilaster to go between them. I'll pick my wall and optimize it a little bit first, pressing F11 for a face, selecting the end face, and deleting and repeating around the other side.
