- [Instructor] Audiences are particularly sensitive to changes in your audio and I haven't touched on adding audio transitions yet because I wanted to give it its own attention. I'm going to deselect Video One, so I just have my Audio One track selected in this sequence and I'm going to add an in point and an out point that covers a range of edits, and now I'm going to click on the Quick Transition button. This doesn't give me the option to add what would be referred to as a cross fade, which of course is the audio equivalent to a dissolve, and that's because in Avid terms, a dissolve is fine. It works just the same way and will effectively apply a cross fade to your audio. It's quite common where there's a hard cut for your audio for there to be a little bit of a sound, like a tap or a loud crack sound, just as the waveform passes over the zero point.
