- [Voiceover] The effect palette contains a great many visual effects and transitions you can apply to your clips. If you have third-party plugins, you will find that they usually turn on up on list here and you can apply them to your clips as you would any of the standard built in effects. You can access the effect palette by going to the tools menu and choosing it right here. And this creates a separate floating window that you can incorporate into other windows if you want to, or you can use the build-in effect palette in the project window. They actually have the same information and the same controls. You made decide, particularly if you're working on a system with larger screens, that you want to have this just floating around and available all the time. You can also take the tab for the palette and drag it into the project window so that you have the effect palette as its own tab. Seems a bit over-the-top to me though, so I'm going to remove this and carry on where I'm working…
