- We've been looking at fairly minimal information in the timeline window, but Media Composer is a feature-rich, nonlinear editing system and it actually gives you access to a significant amount of additional information to help guide you as you edit your sequence. I'm going to click on the fast menu here, in the timeline, and I'm going to choose default setup, so we can see what you get when you first install the application. We've got our video tracks and our audio tracks and the audio tracks are a little bit larger, which will be helpful when we turn on the wave forms, but for now, there's nothing there. I'm going to click here, on the view menu, and I'm going to save this view as default, so we've got this as reference. As soon as I did that, you might have noticed, up in my settings list, a new entry appeared, timeline view default. And you'll notice that you can't really do much with this.
