- [Instructor] Composer settings are a user setting, along with a lot of other really important options that change the way Media Composer works for you. When you're personalizing Media Composer in this way, you might want to backup your user profile or perhaps transport it to another Media Composer system. Up at the top of the Project window, we've got the option to choose one or other user profiles. To create a new one, and also to import or export user profiles, or update the user profile that we're working with. In fact, the update option doesn't really change the settings in the user profile. It adds any settings that have been added to a newer version of Media Composer to an existing user profile, and that's pretty important because as Media Composer continues to develop as an application, there are likely to be new settings entries, and it's a bit like adding a metadata entry to a media file.
