Creating motion effects using Fit to Fill

- [Instructor] So far, we have created a bit of an action sequence, by taking an original unmodified piece of media, following it with a freeze frame, and then following that freeze frame with some slow motion. The slow motion goes on a little bit longer than we really need it to. So I'm going to find another clip to cut to, and replace part of that shot. This time around, instead of defining a new frame rate or a new playback speed for the original clip, we're going to use a duration set in the timeline window, and squeeze or expand the playback of the original shot to fill the gap. This is called a Fit-to-Fill edit, and you'll see why in just a moment. First, let's choose the part of the sequence we're going to replace. I'll just scrub through a little bit here, and around about here, he reaches for the rope. And I think that's pretty much where the drama ends. So I'm going to mark an in point, around about here.
